Standardbred mare, 8 yrs, 15.3hh
Dora is a placid mare & a willing learner, good to float, catch (she'll come to you ) handle, and well-behaved for the farrier, dentist etc. She is not under saddle at present but, with further training, does have potential to be a lovely riding horse.
Like all our horses, Dora has been introduced to natural horsemanship handling. She has been backed and responded calmly, but turned away over the past couple of months while we moved properties. Dora will make a wonderful project horse for the right person.
Adoption fee: $600.
Thoroughbred mare, 15.3hh, 13yrs
Jazz is an affectionate, sweet-natured mare. She has been started on Natural Horsemanship at Windamere and works very well on the ground. It is under saddle that she can be anxious (saddle = race!), so we recommend her as a companion. She has great potential as a friend or therapy horse, or perhaps for Liberty work.
Jazz prefers to be in a herd and is beautifully behaved for the farrier, dentist and when needing to be caught, wormed, groomed, etc.
Adoption fee: $300
Standardbred mare, 14.3hh, 9yrs.
This mare has a beautiful, friendly nature. She is in good health - hooves, teeth, body condition. In fact, Matilda is a good doer. Easy to catch and float, and good for the farrier, dentist etc. Matilda loves to be groomed and just hang out with a human .
Since her retirement from harness-racing, at Windamere, she has been started in Natural Horsemanship training and commenced training under saddle. She was turned away two-three months ago and is now ready to recommence her training or start life as a companion. In the latter role, she would be great company in general and has strong potential for non-riding activities such as Liberty.
Matilda will be great project for the experienced home or a beautiful companion for a devoted horse lover.
Adoption fee: $450
